Hi Cherie,

I just want to update you on my job hunting progress so that you can
feel like a proud teacher.

Well, just days after I finished your class (Dec '07), I sent out 8
resumes. I've been contacted by 4 companies already (3 in less than a
week); have done 2 phone interviews and passed the first rounds. EF
Smithsonian has invited me to their January 08 TD orientation. And, I
will be meeting with Peak Performance Tours' Ops Manager at the end of
January for her final review of me. I will be meeting the other 2
companies (Directors Choice Tour & Travel and One If By Land Tours)
within the next 3 weeks. These companies are looking for TDs for the
NY, Boston and DC area. Boy, I knew I had to move fast to get in for
the Spring season and it paid off.

Cherie Anderson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from
Arizona State University and completed her graduate work at California
State University of Northridge. After graduation she started her
professional career as a high school physical education instructor.

Loving what she did but not quite feeling that her dreams were being
met, Cherie searched for that perfect professional career that she
could really be passionate about. In the 1980s, she found out about
tour directing and knew immediately that was the profession she longed
for. Starting out as a cruise host, she spent several years escorting
groups to Alaska, Mexico, the Panama Canal and the Caribbean the
Caribbean, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific, and many
more wonderful places extensive experience under her belt, Cherie went
segued into becoming a full-time professional Tour Director, and
traveled around the world!

I know the in's and out's of the travel industry and been training Tour
Directors and Tour Guides since 1993.

Hi Cherie,

Thought I would drop you a quick line. It's been almost a full year
since I completed your on-line course (end of September). I have
completed a full season with EF Explore America and am in full throttle
with Paragon Tours.

I have passed my year end review with flying colors at EF and have been
invited back for next season with a "not so bad" raise. This has all
worked out well. I leave tomorrow AM for a Maine Booth bay Harbor tour
which at this time of the year will be beautiful.

I do have to tell you that your course has opened the doors and the
information learned is as good as anywhere else. I constantly get asked
by other TD's what year I went to ... and really knock their socks off
when I told them where I was trained. Most, after paying big bucks, the
very expensive travel school ... are amazed and some are "really put
off" because I got the same job as they did without paying thousands of
dollars. I can stand my ground with the best of them. Of course,
theknowledge is one thing, but once learned, it's the personality that
makes the tour (and tips :-)).

Hello,

I sent out about 10 resumes in early December and applied to a couple
of cruise lines' Alaska programs. I received one call for an interview
in mid-December and had a phone interview just before X-mas. The
35-minute interview, which consisted of questions, scenario and
discussion was pretty intense, but I made it through, although I was a
little nervous. The interviewer started out by asking what I thought
the responsibilities were and my corresponding qualifications. I was
prepared with my list because of Cherie's outline in Lesson 12. This
lesson was invaluable, especially Chapter 4. This was followed by the
typical interview questions, some follow-up about the specifics of the
position and then scenarios. The scenarios were almost identical to
what Cherie had prepared for us. Anyway, last week I received an
invitation to the TD training later this month. I can't wait!

A special thanks Cherie for making it possible for us to break into
this new career and get our first assignments.

Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.

ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.
